May 2019 Newsletter

Greetings from the Powder River Chamber,

Did you know that May is National Beef Month? Before the month draws to a close, we wanted to recognize the many ranchers and ag support industries at work in our community.  Thank you for your contributions to the single largest segment of American agriculture!

Looking ahead to summer, we anticipate large crowds over the 4th of July weekend for the Powder River County Centennial Celebration & All-School Reunion.  We encourage Chamber businesses to contact us with any special events you have planned.  Details on the weekend’s activities will be available at registration tables in the courthouse lobby on July 4th and 5th.  Also at the Chamber table, you’ll find  raffle tickets for the stunning “Prairie Wind” quilt donated by the Stitch & Chatter Club in support of the Fireworks Fund; as well as Beyond Echoing Footsteps books at a special Centennial discount rate of $50!  Stop by and see us over the 4th! And don’t forget to sign up by June 13th for the Softball Tournament to take advantage of the $5 early registration discount - $15/player before June 13th and $20/player through July 4th.  Get the registration form on HERE or at local businesses.

If the weather cooperates, our Movies in the Park will start in June (let us know if you have any requests!) and will include a special space series starting in late July in honor of the 50th anniversary of the July 20, 1969 Apollo moon landing.  Watch for information on our “Crazy Days, Starry Nights” summer theme, including a fun, educational program with the StarLab portable planetarium, which will be visiting from the Carter County Museum on August 2nd!

There’s so much happening this summer we can’t get it all in one newsletter!  So, stay tuned or follow us on Facebook @PowderRiverChamberofCommerce for all the details!
