Happy Birthday Powder River County!

March 17, 2019 marked the centennial of the formation of Powder River County and plans are underway for the big celebration and all school reunion to be held over the 4th of July weekend. Organization for this celebration includes cooperation from the Powder River Chamber, SCDC, PR Trails Club and many amazing individuals.  The weekend includes the Freedom Run, centennial parade, street dance, fireworks, softball tournament, golf tournament, art show, scavenger hunt, an original musical production and many more activities.  We encourage you to pre-register to receive event details and be entered in a drawing for $250!  Anyone registering after June 28th is placed in a drawing for $100.  You must check-in at the registration area over the 4th of July weekend to be eligible to win.  For more information and the newly revised schedule, check out our website www.prchamberofcomm.com and go to the Events & Calendar page.

Spring is in the air as we move toward Community Clean Up Day next Monday, April 29th.  Chamber members Bronze to Platinum receive a project submission and students will choose from the list provided.  Any adults willing to help supervise or local groups/organization wishing to join us in our Broadus beautification efforts should contact Melissa Billing for more information.

The Chamber is excited to announce a new family fun activity coming Saturday, May 4th.  Join us starting at 1:30pm for lunch followed by a light-hearted afternoon event at Rolling Hills Golf Course for the Kentucky Derby horse race! Cheer on your favorite as we watch the race (including a Calcutta of the horses!) and enjoy drinks and snacks at the clubhouse. There will be games, activities and prizes for all ages! Don’t forget to dress to impress, you could take home the win for best hat or one of our other great categories! We’ll see you on Derby Day!!  Find out more on our Facebook event page
