July 2019 Newsletter
Happy Haying Season to all of our local ranchers – here’s hoping the sun keeps shining so you can finally get that hay up!
First, a quick wrap up of the Centennial Celebration with a huge thank you to everyone that participated, volunteered and attended! Including alumni, spouses and guests, almost 700 people registered and it was an incredible few days! We hope you all enjoyed the festivities - we did Powder River County proud!
As we look forward to the remainder of summer, we hope you’ll join us for “Crazy Days & Starry Nights.” “Crazy Days” are scheduled at local retailers for Friday and Saturday, August 2nd and 3rd, so don’t miss the fantastic sales around town! “Starry Nights” commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing with a special space series. Outdoor movie nights include the films Apollo 13 (July 26th) and WALL-E (August 2nd) and our headline event is the StarLab planetarium. Come to the VFW on Friday, August 2nd any time between 11am-6pm to catch one or all of the various 30 minute films and guided presentations that explore our solar system! This educational program is FREE and is suitable for adults and kids of all ages. You’re sure to be inspired as science comes alive in this unforgettable dome! Watch our Facebook event page for a detailed schedule of programs.
Mark your calendars for our August 13th educational seminar. We’re sponsoring a “Lunch & Learn” opportunity from 1-3pm at the Community Center where a team from Big Sky Economic Development will provide quick presentations on topics including value-added service, employee management practices and customer service skills. You’ll hear from experts who understand what it means to do business in small town Montana. Free tickets are available with membership levels Silver and up, or can be purchased for $5 each. (Please pre-register for catering numbers!) We encourage all local business owners and/or employees to attend. Watch for email invitations or follow our Facebook page for more information!
