February 2019 Newsletter

Greetings from the winter wonderland of Powder River County –

As we close out February, we’re all wishing for some warmer temps on behalf of the local ranchers, but we hope your calving, lambing, shearing and bull sale seasons are successful despite the bitter cold.  We support the local farmers and ranchers that in turn support our local businesses and thank you all for your hard work during this difficult season.

Congratulations to the PRCDHS boys and girls basketball teams for well-played seasons!  We appreciate the local businesses whose sponsorship made it possible to hear the tournament games on the radio.  We’re now looking ahead to the NCAA March Madness basketball tournaments and invite everyone to attend the Sweet Sixteen Calcutta on Wednesday, March 27th held at Powder River Lanes at 7pm.  Join the excitement and win some cash!

While you’re trying to stay warm over the next couple weeks, it might be a good time to stay inside and contemplate your marketing strategy.  Visit Southeast Montana is offering a Marketing Workshop for Tourism Partners in Miles City on Tuesday, March 5th.  $12 registration includes lunch and a full day of sessions including social media, grant writing and other marketing tools.  If you’re interested, contact us for more information.

Spring will be here before you know it (hopefully!) and with it, Community Clean-Up Day, which has been scheduled for Monday, April 29th!  Melissa Billing is head of the Chamber committee that will be working with Dori Phillips to organize the student projects.  We’re also hoping to encourage a wider participation from the entire community to give our town a facelift before the Powder River County Centennial.  If you or your group, organization or club would like to help us with this Broadus beautification effort, please email Melissa@davegardnercpa.com to discuss project needs.
