May 2022 Newsletter
Thank you to everyone that participated in and attended our Local Candidate Forum. We hope you appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the candidates and leadership roles in Powder River County. If you missed the event in person, you can find the video feed on our Facebook page or website. Thank you to all of you who are willing to serve our community in these positions.
What incredible moisture we’ve been blessed with this spring! Hopefully you’ll be able to take time out from a stellar haying season to help us celebrate the upcoming 4th of July events in Broadus this year! “Willing to Serve” is the 2022 theme for Independence Day festivities sponsored by the Powder River Chamber of Commerce & Ag.
With the 4th being a Monday, the Broadus Softball Tournament has been scheduled for the preceding weekend and will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 2nd & 3rd – follow our Facebook event page for sign-up details and updates. Also on July 3rd, a community church service will be held in Cottonwood Park at 9am.
The Freedom Run hosted by the Powder River Trails Club will kick off the fun on the morning of July 4th. Visit their Facebook page for registration information. The parade will take place on Courthouse Square starting at 11am. The Broadus Volunteer Fire Department is marking the 100th anniversary of their formation in Powder River County this year and they are planning a big showing at the parade, so please join us in celebration of a century of service to this community! We invite you to participate in the parade with entries of all kinds. Line up begins at 10:30am at the high school – no pre-registration is necessary!
We have a handful of other activity details in the works for this celebration, so watch our Facebook page for more 4th of July details as they are finalized.
